Hairy Dew-Grass is an erect or prostrate herbs with stem round in cross-section, hairy. Flowers are few, tube 6-7 mm long, petals 4 mm long, blunt, blue with red glands. Stamen filaments are 11 mm long, bearded; style dialated below the stigma. Sepals are 6-7 mm long, free, lanceshaped, keel fringed with hairs. Flowers are borne in cymes at branch-ends and upper in leaf-axils, stalkless. Bracts are 1.2 cm long, ovate-lanceshaped, hairy; bracteoles ovate, curved, fringed with hairs along the margins. Leaves are 2-8 x 0.8-2 cm, ovate, stalkless, heart-shaped at base, hairy above and below; sheath tubular, thickly hairy. Capsules are 2-3 mm long, hairy at tip; seeds paired. Hairy Dew-Grass is native to South India and Sri Lanka. Flowering: November-January.
